These shoes are so cute and stylish. Once I get used to them I will wear them all day. So far I have worn them for half an hour at a time around the house to get used to them. I can really feel my leg muscles afterwards. They are comfortable and feel so cushiony and don't hurt my feet like my other walking shoes. -- Great shoes
I ordered the shoes because they didn't look like an athletic shoe and would go with working in an office and casual dress pants. I also liked the idea of no ties. The fit was great. I ordered a size larger as other reviews indicated the shoes run a size small. So definitely order a 1/2 to 1 size larger than you would normally in the Sketcher shape-ups. I really liked the look, but unfortunately, the velcro straps work loose as you walk. So, I had no choice but to return the shoes for a refund. Amazon was very prompt in refunding me. Save yourself some trouble and shipping costs to return the shoes. There is another Shape-ups in an black oxford with tie, so I would consider those instead. -- Great look, poor design of straps
I bought these because I need to walk more and they looked like they would be very comfortable. Well they are. I can really tell when I go back to other shoes, because my feet do not feel as well. These shoes are tops! -- Great shoes
I love my Skechers Shape-Ups - Training Fitness Walking Sneakers. I have sever arthritus in my ankle (bone on bone) and I can walk in these shoes with no pain. My only problem is the placement of the velcro...the top piece of velcor barely catches on the bottom strip of velcro and occasionally separates. Otherewise, they are wonderful! -- Love these shoes
These shoes are well worth the investment. Within one day, I noticed some relief in my lower back & hip, which are often stiff and painful after a day of walking. Other reviewers have complained of trouble with the velcro straps being short or coming undone, but I did not have this problem. Perhaps they fit me well because I am small-boned and have a relatively low arch. (I am 5'5 and 129 pounds). If you are a large person, or have a very high arch or thicker feet, I would probably suggest you get a lace-up style instead. The construction is very sturdy without much flexibility & they are not overly wide across the bridge of the foot. So, if you are torn between two sizes, I would go up 1/2 size rather than down 1/2 size. I most often wear a 7.5, but I purchased these in an 8 and they fit perfectly. My pair also came with a useful instructional dvd - an added bonus. And, even my fashionista teenager gave the style a "thumbs-up," so I have to disagree with the reviewer who called them ugly! Even when you are standing still (in line or on the phone, etc.) you can rock back and forth on them, to stretch your legs and get a mini work-out. Also, I did compare them to a similar concept of "air" shoe made by Easy Spirit: the Shape-Ups provided much more of a work-out (greater rocking motion). Caveat: they do take getting used to, and do "rock" quite a bit, so I would not suggest them for an elderly person if they are at all unsteady on their feet. -- A Mini Work-Out PLUS Back & Hip Relief
