I couldn't afford these myself, but when I mentioned an interest to my sister, she just happened to have an old pair to give me (she has new ones in colors she likes better). I wear them every day and, now, pretty much all day. I can't talk for everyone, but for me they're reeeeally comfortable and I like the dull workout burn I get when I'm just doing average back and forth tasks.
As far as losing weight goes, I've kind of counteracted the sneaker's work by eating badly, but I've definitely noticed a difference in my legs- I've got some muscle under there!- and my posture. :> At the very least, that's something. I love these things. -- Love 'em.
These shoes are so comfy,and I can feel them helping to stretch my calves. I don't expect anything other than them being a tool to help me get into shape. With that thought, they'll be helpful as long as they're being used. -- whoo hooo for shape ups!!
I purchased these shoes because of the promises of being able to walk better, and to maintain better posture while doing so. I do not feel I have better posture, and they took a lot of getting used.
The first week or so wearing these I had a slight calf pain as my body adjusted to the new way of walking. I also read a study that these shoes only concentrate their "effectiveness" in the ankle-foot-calf areas meaning that your thighs (a problem area for so many women) are not getting any more of workout than with normal shoes. I am a jogger, and jogging in these shoes took a lot of getting used to.
I do like the added padding that these shoes have, my feet definately ache less at the end of a day when I have been walking a lot.
But the high price made them almost not worth it. -- Not great, didn't lose weight
