Already had another pair of sketchers shape-up,tie up style and decided to order the mary jane style to wear with my white uniforms at work. I am a nurse and spend many hours on my feet with resulting back pain prior to using the sketchers shape-ups. Due to having to maintain a better posture, my back pain at the end of my shift has almost disappeared. Would recommend these shoes to anyone that is on their feet for long periods but the tieup style seems to offer more support. -- joans sketchers
I have very normal feet and no extra problems leg problems that need any specific attention. I do spend a lot of time on my feet, though and I purchased these with the hopes of getting more muscle movement for the time I spend bustling around my shop.
I think they look a little weird and they are bulky, my husband laughs when he sees me wear them (kindly). But I have made it a habit to wear them to work, I thought the Mary Jane style looked a little more like a casual shoe and I like how they feel. On my feet (I did buy 1/2 larger, as suggested) they are very comfortable. Some of the shoes I have worn to work in the past have given me terrible aches in my heels and sometimes the balls of my feet. When I wear these, I have zero foot pain. I do know that I am using different muscles, because I can feel the tension in them as I move around. I have experienced muscle fatigue in my thighs, buttocks, lower abominals and lower back.
I have only been wearing them for a little less than a month, so I cannot say how they will hold up, or whether I will have any further gains in my muscle strength, but overall I am happy. -- I'm not a shoe aficionado-but I like them
I love the Mary-jane style with the velcro strap. The shoes give you a good work out and you can feel the results in your leg muscles. The one thing I would recommend is that you order a 1/2 size larger than your regular size. Over all I am pleased with this product. -- Shape-ups
I purchased the Skechers Hydrate as well as the Skechers Sleek Fit. I wanted to get the Hydrate because it was entirely black, whereas the Sleek Fit has white accent stitching. I actually found that the Sleek Fit looks much nicer in person than the Hydrate. My co-workers also agreed that it was a cuter shoe. The Sleek Fit has mesh paneling on the sides, which I can definitely tell is more breathable than the leather on the Hydrate. The Sleek Fit definitely runs a 1/2 size smaller, but the Hydrate does NOT run small. I normally wear a size 8.5 or 9, and I ordered both styles in 9.5. The Hydrate was too big, while the Sleek Fit was just perfect. If you're also looking at MBT, I suggest the Kaya. Personally, I thought the MBT Kaya was much more cushioned and had a lot more of the rocker action than any of the Skechers Shape-ups I have tried. -- This shoe runs 1/2 size small
Fits as sizing indicates; walking in them is different-you get used to it like a see-saw effect. Comfortable. You will definitely feel it in the calves. Also makes you feel talker too.
